Exclusive: TƎMPEST World Premiere Features JERSEY BOYS Star Erica Piccininni in Dual Role
The world premiere screening will take place on Friday, June 19th at 9:30 pm local time at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood.
Stage and screen star Erica Piccininni, known to Broadway audiences for her role as Lorraine in the original cast of Jersey Boys, is leading the independent film TƎMPEST, BroadwayWorld can exclusively reveal.
The film is among the titles in the newly announced lineup for Dances with Films LA Festival, where it will hold its world premiere this June. The screening will take place on Friday, June 19th at 9:30 pm local time at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood. Tickets, as well as the full lineup, are available here.
TƎMPEST explores a dual universe featuring two versions of a woman named Miranda, both played by Piccininni. During one fateful night, a suffering Miranda discovers her alternate reality after encountering a mysterious teapot in her basement. She and her alternate self—who doesn't carry the same burden of her family troubles—swap places. Before long, their identities intertwine, and both attempt to find healing within their circumstances.
The cast also includes Allison Pistorius, who has appeared in numerous regional Shakespeare productions, along with Josh Bywater (HBO's Somebody Somewhere, Fake It Until You Make It at Arena Stage), Jacob Buster (Let the Right One In), David Weisenberg (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and K Steele (Queen Sugar).
The film is directed by Greg Green, whose previous feature credits include Chapter Perfect, 3 of a Kind, and, most recently, Magpie Funeral. Garry Williams penned the screenplay for TƎMPEST, with Weisenberg serving as producer.
