Veteran and award-winning stage actor, play director and theatre producer Darryl Maximilian Robinson, the Founder of the award-winning, multiracial, professional classical and contemporary chamber theatre, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago, and who will be appearing Oct. 14th through the 16th as the great Broadway impresario extraordinaire Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr.. in new Conundrum Theatre Company revival production of FUNNY GIRL at The Historic Rialto Theatre, will discuss his life and times in his new home of L A and his 42-year-long non-Equity professional stage career and involvement in the live performing arts at 11:30 am Monday September 19th 2016 as a guest on "THE ACTOR'S CHOICE" an internet informational arts program hosted by noted entertainment and performing arts journalist Ron Brewington.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson began his preparation for a life in the theatre during his junior and senior high school days as a teenager growing up on the west side of Chicago. He was trained in musical theatre presentation as well as in classical Shakespearean performance. He would go on to work with several noted theatres in the Midwest region of the U.S. winning critical praise, and go on to capture awards for his work as The Founder of The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago, including both a 1997 Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citation Award as Outstanding Actor In A Principal Role In A Play and a 1997 Chicago Black Theatre Alliance Award Nomination as Best Leading Actor In A Play for his performance as Sam Semela in the ESC's Jeff Citation Nominated Best production of Athol Fugard's powerful anti-apartheid dramatic masterpiece Master Harold and the Boys; as well as a 1998 Chicago WKKC Radio Critic's Corner Fine Arts Award for Outstanding Director Of The Play Waiting for Godot the comic-tragic existential classic by Samuel Beckett for which he also received critical praise for his portrayal of Vladimir.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2005, and making his formal stage debut as the old Shakespearean actor Henry Albertson in the Hollywood FRINGE Festival production of Tom Jones' and Harvey Schmidt's The Fantasticks at The Complex Theatre in 2010, Mr. Robinson has appeared in over a dozen West Coast productions in roles ranging from Major-General Stanley in the 2014 San Pedro Theatre Club 135th Anniversary Revival Production of Gilbert And Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance to The Narrator and The Mysterious Man in the 2014 Burbank Community Theatre staging of Stephen Sondheim's and James Lapine's Into the Woods to the debonair, but aging, leading man Ernest in Tad Mosel's Impromptu as part of the 2016 Emmanuel Lutheran Actors' Theatre Ensemble - ELATE presentation of 4 One-Act Plays JUST 4 FUN for which Mr. Robinson earned a 2015 / 2016 Elate Season Ticket Holder Award Nomination as Best Actor!

"THE ACTOR'S CHOICE" is a "PG" informational show where guests share information, insights and their personal stories with an emphasis on the guests' work and involvement in the entertainment industry and the performing arts.
