Crown City Theatre's A PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER Closes 3/27

By:

M.R. Hunter's A PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER, directed by Albert Alarr will extend again, plays its final show on March 27 at 8 PM at the Crown City Theatre.

Eyespyla.com writes of the production, "The cast (Kevin Brief, Gary Lamb, Matthew Thompson and Matthew J. Williamson)... with their total commitment and embodiment of these roles, turn out explosive, powerhouse performances for each. Babe's meaty monologues provide plenty of grist for these talented actors to sink their teeth into and the sheer physical stamina required throughout is impressive to watch. Director Albert Alarr fully exhausts the savage, mind-numbing tension of these anti-heroes with exploitive, hard-edged realism"

A PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER first played at Joseph Papp's Public Theater in New York in 1978. The play is a dark, gritty, crime drama about 2 corrupt detectives interrogating 2 murder suspects.
Its bizarre, poetic quality and edgy dialogue make this a play to remember.

Almost all the characters display both their masculine and feminine sides as part of a game of manipulation as someone is going down for murder and no one is leaving the precinct. Not even Detective Kelly, who's daughter may be on the verge of suicide.
