Coeurage Theatre Company's CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL Begins Tonight
Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced the final production of its 2014 season, Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical. With book, music and lyrics by New Cannibal Society and directed by Tito Fleetwood Ladd, there will be two preview performances tonight, October 25 at 8pm and Thursday, October 30 at 8pm, and opening is set for Halloween night, Friday, October 31 with performances at 8pm and midnight. There will be a Halloween party between the two opening night performances. Cannibal! The Musical will play through November 22 at the Lyric-Hyperion Theatre & Cafe in Silver Lake.
Uncouth, absurd, and wickedly tongue-in-cheek, Coeurage Theatre Company presents the Los Angeles premiere of Tony Award-winner Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical. From the creators of South Park and The Book of Mormon comes this western spoof telling the tale of a pack of miners en route to the promised land of Colorado, led by the state's only convicted cannibal, Alfred Packer. Replete with puppets, blood, song, dance, and Parker's signature crassness, Cannibal! The Musical is guaranteed to delight and offend. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Mike Brady, Ryan Brady, Brian Cannady, Gregory Crafts, Mikey De Lara, Travis Dixon, Josh Hoover, Ashley Kane, Jason Peter Kennedy, Scott Kruse, Peter Larney, Kari Lee, Gregory Nabours, Kurt Quinn, Kalena Ranoa, Christine Sinacore, and Joe Tomasini.
Scenic design is by JR Bruce, lighting design is by director Ladd, and costume design is by Kara McLeod. Musical direction is by Gregory Nabours, choreography is by Carly Wielstein, and fight choreography is by TJ Marchbank. Stage manager is Risa Kurosaki.
Cannibal! The Musical will play two preview performances on Saturday, October 25 at 8pm and Thursday, October 30 at 8pm, and opening is set for Halloween night, Friday, October 31 with performances at 8pm and midnight. There will be a Halloween party between the performances and members of both audiences are invited to join the fun.
The regular running schedule is as follows - Fridays, November 7, 14, and 21 at 8pm; Saturdays, November 8, 15, and 22 at 8pm and midnight; no performance on Saturday, November 1. All seats are available on a Pay What You Want basis, and may be reserved online at www.coeurage.org/tickets or by calling (323) 944-2165.
