Celebration Theatre has announced that the first show of its 2011-2012 Season, the critically-acclaimed (LA Weekly GO!, Backstage CRITIC'S PICK!), smash-hit production of WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANGRY? written by Patrick Wilde and directed by Celebration Theatre resident director Michael Matthews is EXTENDING through Saturday, NOVEMBER 19th at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANGRY? was written at a time in British history when the age of consent for homosexuals was five years older than heterosexuals. Legislation, called Section 28, prohibited schools and local authorities from depicting homosexual relationships as an acceptable view of family life. While school was the setting for Steven Carter's romance with Mr. Popular, John Westhead, Steven has spent his life at home telling his parents exactly what they wanted to hear. His fortunes take an unexpected turn when he discovers that his feelings for John are reciprocated; however what's one to do when your family, school and country tell you your love isn't acceptable?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANGRY? was presented at Celebration Theatre in 2000 by an outside Production Company and makes it Celebration Theatre debut in 2011. Celebration chose to produce the play at this time finding that the historical timeline of the play's backdrop, Section 28, and the current political climate including Proposition 8 make it a timely and important piece of theatre.
