Celebration Announces That PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT Extends Through May 6 Celebration, under the artistic direction of Michael Matthews & Michael A. Shepperd, and in association with Ryan Allen, Andrew Carlberg and Amy Miller Gross is thrilled to announce that the fastest selling show in its history and the second show in its 2017-2018 season, its critically acclaimed (LA Times CRITIC'S CHOICE, Stage Raw RECOMMENDED), Los Angeles intimate theatre premiere of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT The Musical, book by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, based on the Latent Image/Specific Films Motion Picture Distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., presented in special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) with choreography by Roman Pantoja, musical direction by Jennifer Lin, directed by Jessica Hanna and produced by Stephen Soucy and Jay Marcus is EXTENDING through SUNDAY, MAY 6 at Celebration Theatre @ the Lex Theatre, 6760 Lexington Ave. in Los Angeles.

Based on the Oscar-winning hit film, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT is a hilarious, outrageous and fabulous musical road trip featuring some of the most classic dance songs of all time including "It's Raining Men," "I Will Survive," and "I Love the Nightlife." Set in Australia, PRISCILLA follows three drag queens as they drive across the outback in a run down old bus searching for love and fulfillment and end up discovering what true friendship really means.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

Jessica Hanna (Director) is a Los Angeles based Theater Maker. She has worked as an actor, director, choreographer and producer all over Los Angeles with many companies and spaces including, Open Fist, Sacred Fools, Evidence Room, John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Greenway Court, Abundant Sugar, Occidental College, Atwater Village Theatre, Furious Theatre, Mine is Yours Theatre Co., B-Flat Productions, Center Theatre Group, Mutant Collective and Circle X. She has also had the pleasure of working with Anne Bogart and the SITI Co. as an actor at the Getty Villa twice. She has trained in Suzuki & Viewpoints since 2002. In June 2006 she co-founded Bootleg Theater and has been the Producing & Managing Director ever since. At Bootleg she has produced and worked with hundreds of artists and companies, overseeing production of all the theatrical and dance performances at Bootleg. Her focus has been on new work development with local artists. Recent directing credits include: Lisa Dring's Death Play, for the Son of Semele Solo Creation Festival and Circle X Theatre (full production). No Homo, at Hollywood Fringe (Winner Best Director, Ensemble Theater, World Premiere and Golden Playwright), New York Fringe and Atwater Village Theatres, Four Chords and a Gun by John Ross Bowie at Bootleg, Nia Orm's' solo sketch show Who Do You Think You Are at the Downtown Independent and most recently I Carry Your Heart by Georgette Kelly at Bootleg.

ROMAN PANTOJA (Choreographer) A graduate of AMDA Los Angeles, Roman spent many years as a Principal Dancer and Rehearsal Director of The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater. He has also had the wonderful opportunity to be a teaching artist for the Disney Musicals in Schools program for The Smith Center in Las Vegas and has recently been seen performing as a guest entertainer on Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Jennifer Lin (Musical Direction) works as a music director, accompanist, and teacher throughout Southern California. She is the resident music director for Color and Light Theatre Ensemble. Recent productions include Hit the Wall (LA LGBT Center), A Little Night Music (Colony Theatre), Promises, Promises (Musical Theatre Guild), and The Spidey Project (Theatre Unleashed).

The Cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL will feature Tad Coughenour (Cabaret - National Tour) as Bernadette, Mario Burrell (Rent on Broadway) as Tick, Lyle Colby Mackston (Merrily We Roll Along at the Wallis) as Adam, Markesha Chatfield (Beehive: The Musical - National Tour) as Queen Diva, Katie Self (Big Band Beat at Tokyo Disney Sea) as Shirley/Diva, Andrea Somera (Beauty and the Beast at Casa 0101) as Cynthia/Diva, Gina Torrecilla (Failure: A Love Story at the Kirk Douglas Theatre) as Marion, George Chavez (Addams Family at Simi Valley A.R.T.S) as Bob, Jack Brody and Nick Brody as Benji. The ensemble includes John Paul Batista (Beauty and the Beastat Candlelight), Jason De Puy (Bash'd at Celebration), Jamie Pierce (The Music Man - Broadway) and Marqell Clayton (Aida at Moonlight Amphitheatre). Understudies are Dekontee Tucrkile, Miki Holmes, and Cameron Jamarr Davis.

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL has assembled an award-winning design team; Scenic Design by Pete Hickok; Lighting Design by Brandon Baruch; Costume Design by Allison Dillard; Hair and Make-up Design by Byron J. Batista; Sound Design by Rebecca Kessin; Properties Design by Michael O'Hara (Failure: A Love Story); Karen Osborne is the Production Stage Manager. The producers ofPRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL are Stephen Soucy & Jay Marcus.

SCHEDULE AND PRICING

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL is EXTENDING through Sunday, May 6 at Celebration Theatre @ the Lex Theatre, 6760 Lexington Ave. in Los Angeles.

Performances are Thursdays, Friday & Saturday evenings at 8pm; Sundays at 2pm.
