Celebrate April Fools’ Day in July with Rogue Artists Ensemble ROGUE FOOL FEST 2 @ Depict Inc Warehouse, 7/20

By:

DANCE PARTY+ SPECTACLE with a hint of CIRCUS, SEXY & COMEDY set to a STEAMPUNK ambiance = an exhilarating night out. Los Angeles' award-winning art collective Rogue Artists Ensemble presents the party of the year: Rogue Fool Fest 2 at Depict Inc Warehouse on July 20 starting @ 9 pm.

Yes, the Rogues and the Pretzelmen are at it again after selling out last year’s amazing fundraiser event to benefit Rogue Artists Ensemble. There will be Libations, Beauties of Burlesque, Art & Oddities, Mysterious Prizes, Wild Puppets, laughs-a-million, drinks-a-plenty—and spectacle like no one but Rogue Artists Ensemble can bring on. Entertainment will include stilt walkers, burlesque dancers, comedic dames, fire artists, sword swallowers, and, of course, naughty puppet performances by the Rogue Artists Ensemble. Dance party mixes will be provided by DJ Sockpuppet with live music from The Peculiar Pretzelman.

Depict InC. Warehouse is a giant space downtown used for filming locations and has an incredible rooftop view of downtown Los Angeles. The space will be transformed into the carnival of your dreams, so come ready to drink, dance and partake in other foolish entertainments. Steampunk attire is strongly suggested for maximum enjoyment. The King and Queen of Steam will be crowned for best steam punk costume. There will be carnival games, great raffle prizes, funny photo booth opportunities, raffle prizes, relics from past Rogue shows and art for sale.

The Peculiar Pretzelmen, fronted by the fearless, and occasionally lucid M. Incroyable, have been kicking, stomping, screaming, and destroying stages, equipment, and minds since 2006. Their music can be described as double-barreled folk music with a pitch-black playfulness and highly unusual instrumentation consisting of banjo/mandocello/ukulele, baritone sax, and percussion that is less drum kit, and more spoils of an old man's work bench. Their peculiar brew is equal parts barn-burning gospel revival and punk rock, with a spirit that is simultaneously terrifying and life-affirming, Incroyable is accompanied by Mr. Deacon, Party Paul, Riverboat Gambler, and The Douglas Lee.

The award-winning, Rogue Artists Ensemble differs from other theater companies in that it's run by a collective of multi-disciplinary artists and designers rather than by actors, writers or directors. By combining ancient storytelling techniques (music, dance, masks, puppetry) with modern technology (digital media, special effects and theatrical illusions), the Rogues cultivate a unique style of live performance unlike any other. They define The Combined use of these and other underrepresented art forms as Hyper-theater.

Rogue Fool Fest 2 takes place on Friday, July 20 from 9 pm–1 am. Depict Inc Warehouse is located at 1460 Naud St., Los Angeles CA 90012. (just blocks from Union Station, between Spring and Main St.). There is ample street parking. General admission at the door is $20. Tickets purchased prior to July 1st are $10, and tickets purchased prior to July 19th are $15. This is a strictly 21 and over event. Please bring a photo ID and CASH.

See Rogue Artists Ensemble’s “D is for Dog” at the Hudson Mainstage through August 4.
