Buzzworks to Present THE DENTAL SOCIETY MIDWINTER MEETING, Opening 6/7
BUZZWORKS THEATER COMPANY (www.buzzworks.org) presents The Dental Society Midwinter Meeting by Laura Jacqmin at the Atwater Village Theatre from Saturday June 7th through Sunday July 13th (previews June 5th and 6th). Craig Anton will be directing the stellar cast in this exceedinglly clever and quirky comedy production.
Following a scandal of molar-sized proportions, the Chicago Dental Society has gathered to debate the future of Midwestern dentistry as they know it. After CDS president Morris J. Morris, Jr., is caught with his pants down - and his dental drill up - the dentists can't help but question: in a field obsessed with profit over health, where morality has taken a backseat to the latest fads in composite fillings, how can a group of upright dental professionals (looking for something more... filling) actually make a difference? This is literally "a comedy with teeth" from the folks that brought you Bad Seed and Invasion of the Minnesota Normals.

Buzzworks Theater Company (BTC) was formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1992. Over the following four years, BTC made great strides across the Midwest producing shows in Minnesota, Chicago, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Then in 1996, Los Angeles beckoned and BTC decided to heed the call and take the biggest leap of its young life. Since its move to California, Buzzworks has produced 26 plays. Now in its 17th year of producing new scripts and new takes on established works, BTC continues to cultivate its work and identity in the Silver Lake community of Los Angeles.
