BYE BYE BIRDIE to Open on October 25 at Grove Theatre

By:

The Grove Theatre announces the opening of BYE BYE BIRDIE on October 25th. BYE BYE BIRDIE is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. The singer, Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, has a pompadour and thick sideburns; wears gaudy gold costumes and speaks in a rugged voice.

Conrad's agent concocts one final national publicity plan before Conrad's induction. Conrad will bid a typical American teen-age girl goodbye with an all-American kiss. The honor is won by Kim MacAfee in Sweet Apple, Ohio. His arrival in Sweet Apple starts an uproar, and the fun ensues from there.

BYE BYE BIRDIE is a satire done with the fondest affection. It gives an insight into the everyday life that is very much a part of us all. It is the tops in imagination and frivolity; and is a show that is not to be missed.

Running from October 25th through November 10th, performances are on Friday and Saturday at 7:29 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and $25 with senior, student and group discounts and can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, or by visiting The Grove box office or website at http://www.grovetheatre.com. The Grove Theatre is located at 276 E. Ninth Street, Upland, CA 91786.
