Malubu's J. Paul Getty Museum has announced the cast for ELEKTRA. The show will mark the fifth annual outdoor production in the Getty Villa's Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater.

Directed by Carey Perloff (artistic director of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco), ELEKTRA will star Annie Purcell in the title role, Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis as Chorus, Manoel Felciano in the role of Orestes and Pamela Reed as Clytemnestra.

"We have gathered a remarkable ensemble of actors with deep experience in Greek tragedy and a great appetite for exploration. Some of them will be well known to Los Angeles audiences, and some are wonderful discoveries, including members of my own core company at A.C.T. and three incredible powerhouse women," said Perloff in a statement. "We look forward to exploring the deep passion and complex arguments at the heart of ELEKTRA, a play so beautifully represented in the concurrent Getty exhibition The Art of Ancient Greek Theater."

Annie Purcell's Broadway credits include THE COAST OF UTOPIA trilogy and AWAKE AND SING! She's also appeared in CYCLING PAST THE MATTERHORN off-Broadway. Olympia Dukakis is an Oscar-winning actress whose theater credits include The MARRIAGE OF BETTE AND BOO and A MAN'S A MAN.

Performances of Sophocle's tragedy will take place Thursdays through Saturdays, from Sept. 9 to Oct. 2. Tickets cost $42.00 ($38.00 for students and seniors) and can be purchased by calling (310) 440-7300 or visiting www.getty.edu.
