Pride Month 2017 continues at Santa Monica Playhouse with the extension of the All-Male Late-Night Date-Night production of the acclaimed musical comedy, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, a charmingly original adaptation of that most gloriously romantic love story retold with an inclusive twist, playing Fridays and Saturday at 9:30 pm through July 29th

Set in a fantasy Medieval milieu "long, long ago," a lovely and spirited Beauty takes charge of her fate and molds herself a most endearing Beast, who offers her a Rose Garden of a thousand and one delights. Replete with ditzy sisters, a befuddled sire, a spell-binding sorceress and a flamboyantly foppish suitor, who all inadvertently or intentionally strew more than a few thorns along Beauty and her Beast's arduous, and ardor-ous, path, It's a classic tale where love wins out, allowing all to find their happily-ever-after endings, and proves that beauty is as beauty does and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST features All the Queen's Men company members Patrick Censoplano, Nima Ghassemian, Joseph Perez, and Graham Silbert, in their third annual PRIDE Production at the Playhouse, joined by Luke Martin McMahan, and Sam Sturges with Zack Medway as Beauty. Beautiful and authentic costumes by Graham Silbert, magical special effects by Nima Ghassemian, and Eric Jon''s ornately detailed Medieval set with castle walls that magically transform before your eyes, create the perfect late-night date-night musical. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST comes with a glass of rosé to toast finding your true love, or creating the love you need.

Written by Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie ("Your work is brilliant!" English Shakespeare Company), who mold the magic, romance, humor and grandeur of this timeless tale into a production which touches the hearts, and indeed, almost the fingertips, of its audience members. Based on the original 1740's tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, whose gently flawed heroes and independently feisty heroines danced their way into the hearts of the populace nearly a century before Jane Austen's Elizabeth and D'Arcy made their first appearance.

The All-Male, Late-Night BEAUTY AND THE BEAST plays Friday and Saturday evenings at 9:30pm, through July 29, 2017. All seats are $20, and include a complimentary glass of rosé included.
