Tick, Tick... Boom!, is a one-act, semi-autobiographical musical by the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent- featuring book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, script consulting by David Auburn, and vocal arrangements and orchestrations by Stephen Oremus. First performed as a solo rock monologue by Larson in 1990, Tick, Tick...Boom! chronicles the journey of an aspiring composer struggling to balance the pursuit of a dream with the pressures of everyday life on the eve of his thirtieth birthday. After Larson's untimely death in 1996, the show was reimagined by playwright David Auburn as a three-actor piece and premiered off-Broadway on June 13, 2001 at the Jane Street Theatre. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Jonathan Larson's death. Although written in the early 90s, Tick, Tick...Boom! is a show that will resonate with people of all ages who have ever fought to pursue a dream.
Tick, Tick...Boom! will play 6 performances at the Hudson Backstage Theatre in Hollywood (6539 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038). The performances will take place as follows: Friday, March 25th and Saturday March 26th at 8 pm; Sunday, March 27th at 7 pm; Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd at 8 pm; Sunday, April 3rd at 7 pm.
