Tall Blonde Productions and Elephant Stageworks present the West Coast Premiere of MANUSCRIPT, by Paul Grellong, coming to the Elephant Theatre beginning August 28, 2009.

MANUSCRIPT by Paul Grellong originally opened at the Daryl Roth Theatre (New York City) in June 2005, directed by Bob Balaban, produced by Scott Rudin and Daryl Roth and starring Pablo Schrieber, Jeffrey Carlson, and Marin Ireland.

The LA premiere of MANUSCRIPT is a tight and witty drama about three college students, childhood friends David and Chris, and Chris's new girlfriend Elizabeth. Throughout their first evening together secrets are revealed and the true relationships between these three begin to be uncovered. By the end of their second evening together the three of them will discover just how far they are willing to go for ambition, loyalty, and ultimately revenge.

Katharine Brandt and BriAnna Lee Johnson founded Tall Blonde Productions in the summer of 2006. In that short time they have produced "Tape" by Stephen Belber at The Elephant Theater, "The House of Yes" by Wendy MacLeod, which received "Critics Pick" from Backstage, "Go" from LA Weekly, and nominations for four Backstage Garland Awards. In the summer of 2007, the company partnered with the Forever Network to create Shakespeare in the Cemetery at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which saw over 3,000 Los Angelenos line-up to see Shakespeare's plays performed at a cultural landmark. In 2008 they returned to the cemetery with their originally written and created show, The LA Babies, a throwback to the USO shows of the 1940's, staged with a mixture of comedy, musical numbers and video installation. www.tallblondeproductions.com

Patrick J Adams' first job was in the movie Old School. Then he appeared as Billy in the Mark Taper's The Goat or Who is Sylvia. Since then he has convinced television producers to cast him on Lost, Friday Night Lights, Cold Case, Without a Trace, NCIS and Ghost Whisperer. Because of those television shows, some good people took notice and cast him in the upcoming indie romantic comedy Weather Girl and Sally Potter's Rage in which he co starred with Judi Dench, Jude Law and Steve Buscemi.

Katharine Brandt is a co-founder of Tall Blonde Productions and a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Recent credits include; Il Bidone at the Bootleg Theatre, The House of Yes, for which she was nominated for a best director award from BackStage West, and Shakespeare in the Cemetery's Hamlet and A Midsummer Night's Dream both at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Adam Shapiro (The Closer, Gilmore Girls, Medium, The House Bunny) is from Philly, graduated from University of Maryland, and is currently the Producing Director of IAMA Theatre Company.

BriAnna Lee Johnson is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Her Los Angeles directing credits include Tape at the Elephant Theater, as well as Hamlet, and The LA Babies, both at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery. As an actor she recently starred in the film Megaconda, for the Sci Fi channel and received a Back Stage West Garland Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance as Jackie-O in The House of Yes.

MANUSCRIPT runs August 28th through October 3rd, 2009. Performances are at The Elephant Theatre at 6322 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM. Tickets are $15. Running time is 75 minutes. Allow time for street parking.
