From the streets of Brooklyn and struggle with his family's past, to the laughter and rebirth of Catskills summers, this multi-media musical is "A delightful journey that speaks to anyone hoping to live out the American Dream" (ABC TV).

A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN can be described as a "Touching, poignant and hilarious" (Palm Beach Post) musical comedy about an immigrant family and one boy's quest, and has been called "One of the most touching, soulful, and laugh out loud shows you'll ever see" (Toronto Star) -- but it is much more than that.  It is a unique show that surprises and entertains on a very personal level, while also celebrating the similarities of our shared human experience. The show will make you laugh and cry; and remind you of the resiliency of the human spirit.

A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN tells Jake's true story growing up in Brooklyn and beyond.  As a boy, he wanted nothing more than to fit in. But the reality of being the first American-born child of Holocaust survivors with thick European accents made him do everything he could to conform to his vision of what it meant to be a "real" American.

Through stories and songs, performed with a live band and multi-media video and photos - including a classic Rock Medley (California Dreamin', Secret Agent Man, Sunshine of Your Life), a multi-instrumental version of Louis Prima's  Sing, Sing, Sing, and even a selection of Yiddish songs - Jake mesmerizingly recreates his unforgettable journey of discovery and lessons learned.  From the front stoops of Brooklyn to his Rock n' Roll days, to the comedy and musical stages of the Catskills and Broadway... from the bedsides of ailing parents and siblings, and then to a family of his own, Jake's story is personal and universal at the same time.  It is the story of our shared search for identity, and the lessons learned...no matter where we are from.
