Tony Winner Patti LuPone Coming to Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 4/18

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present Broadway superstar Patti LuPone in her hit show "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" on Saturday, April 18, at 8 p.m. "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" features songs from musicals from which LuPone could have played, should have played, did play and will play. The list of shows include "Hair," "Bye, Bye Birdie," "Funny Girl," "West Side Story," "Peter Pan" and of course, from her Tony award-winning performances in "Evita" and "Gypsy." Patti LuPone brings her iconic personality and signature voice in "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" to Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Born on April 21, 1949, Patti LuPone is an American actress and singer from Northport, Long Island, N.Y., who is best known for her work in stage musicals. A two-time Grammy and Tony award winner, LuPone graduated Julliard and began her professional career as a founding member of John Houseman's The Acting Company in 1972. She made her Broadway debut the following year in "Three Sisters."

LuPone received the first of six Tony Award nominations for her performance in the 1975 musical "The Robber Bridegroom." She won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Eva Perón in the 1979 original Broadway production of "Evita." LuPone played Fantine in the original London cast of "LES MISERABLES" and Moll in "The Cradle Will Rock," winning her the 1985 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for both performances.

Patti LuPone's film credits include "Witness" (1985), Oscar winner "Driving Miss Daisy" (1989), "State and Main" (2000) and "Parker" (2013). She has also made guest appearances on television series such as "Glee," "American Horror Story," "Ugly Betty," "Army Wives" and HBO's "Girls." LuPone is the author of The New York Times bestseller, "Patti LuPone: A Memoir." In 2006, she was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame. LuPone teamed up with her "Evita" co-star Mandy Patinkin in 2011 for a series of Broadway concerts.

"Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" was conceived and directed by Scott Whitman, with musical arrangements by Dick Gallagher. LuPone's performance will be backed by a pianist who will play the theatre's 117 year-old Steinway piano that was purchased in 2005 as a result of a generous donation to the theatre.
