Riverside Opera Company Presents PoPera 2017
The Riverside Opera Company (ROC), under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia, presents: PoPera 2017, a performance that include operatic fan favorites performed by 8 award winning performers and the Curtis High School Chorus, under the direction of Josh Steinhardt, singing Sam Smith's "Writings on the Wall" (from Spectre) with the full orchestra Sunday, May 7, 3 p.m. at The Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, Staten Island. PoPera 2017 features operatic fan favorites including "Caro Nome" from Rigoletto by Verdi; "La donne e moblie" from Rigoletto ; "Mein Herr Marquis" from Die Fledermaus by Strauss;"Una Voce Poco fa" IN E from Barber of Seville by Rosinni; "Ich lade gern Mir Gaste ein, Chacun a son gout" from Die Fledermaus; Gremins Aria from Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky;."Io son l'umile ancella" from Adriana Lecouvrer by Cilea;Overture to Die Fledermaus and Intermezzo from Cavaleria Rusticana.
Joining a full orchestra are the following Award winning featured vocalists:
Sopranos: Maria Ciccaglione, Natalie Eccleston, Iris Prcic and
Yun Melody Xie.
Tenors: Brett Pardue, Giuseppe Taormina and Riad Ymeri
Bass: Christopher Nazarian
The Riverside Opera Company is based on Staten Island in New York City. It performs fully and semi-staged productions with full orchestra conducted by Maestro Alan Aurelia, who has conducted in Italy as well as in the U.S. Its singers are winners of open public auditions, held in New York City.
