Photo Flash: First Look at Minstrel Players' IT HAPPENED ONE ACT

By:

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village are holding their first ever One Act Play Festival entitled IT HAPPENED ONE ACT. The company is coming off its successful Spring staging of The Nerd!. Performances will be one weekend only on Saturday, July 21st at 8 P.M and a 3 P.M. matinee performance on Sunday, July 22nd at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. Get a first look at the productions in the photos below!

The production features seven original, never produced scripts from all over the U.S.A. Contributing authors come from as far away as Hawaii and as nearby as our own backyard—Long Island. The seven scenes selected will be directed by four different Minstrels—Evan Donnellan, Debbie Palen, Ray Palen and Tara Palen.

The cast is made up of Minstrel veterans like Sue Burton, Lisa Casillo, Evan Donnellan, Tricia Ieronimo, Ray and Tara Palen along with a host of newcomers to the Minstrel stage: Lorraine Bettica, Jeannie Gedeon, David Gordon, Maris Kastan, Larry Maltin, Jerold Snyder and Wynne Wilder.

The ‘World Class’ crew is rounded out with Robert Cashman – Technical Director, Debbie Palen – Assistant Director, Kelly Quinn – Stage Manager and Esteban Lopez – Lighting Director.

The seven scenes that will be performed run the full gamut from comedy, drama, dramedy and even a clever homage to The Twilight Zone. The Minstrel Players are honored to feature these amazing original plays for one weekend only in the hope that they will reach a wider audience and propel these amateur playwrights to greater things.
