Mercedes Ruehl Joins Bay Street's Board Of Trustees

Bay Street Theatre is pleased to announce that Mercedes Ruehl has joined the Board of Trustees. Prior to her role in the 2009 Bay Street production of DINNER, Mercedes Ruehl was seen in Bay Street productions of VIVA LA VIDA and BLUE LIGHT. Broadway credits include THE AMERICAN PLAN; THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA?, THE ROSE TATOO, THE SHADOW BOX, LOST IN YONKERS (Tony). Film credits include Married To The Mob, Big, Last Action Hero, Lost in Yonkers, What's Cooking?, and her Oscar winning role in The Fisher King.

"To have an actor of Mercedes' talent and integrity on our stage," says Artistic Directors Sybil Christopher and Murphy Davis, "is a terrific privilege and now we are over the moon to have her our board!"

"I have had many extraordinary experiences on the Bay Street stage," says Mercedes Ruehl, "and I'm excited to become a part of the family that shapes and directs the course of this unique and valuable theatre."

"We are thrilled to welcome Mercedes aboard," says Executive Director Tracy Mitchell. We are so fortunate that she is an East End resident who is extremely dedicated to Bay Street and our community."
