Classic Rock Fun Columbus Day Weekend Held at Bay Street Theatre

By:

The Bay Street Theatre announced classic rock fun just in time for Columbus Weekend October 7-9. The fun begins with The Picture Show presentation of the classic Beatles film A HARD DAY'S NIGHT on Friday, October 7 at 8 pm. The first Fab Four feature film includes hysterical antics of John, Paul, Ringo and George and classic Beatles songs. The film premiered in 1964 during the height of Beatlemania. Directed by Richard Lester, the film was made in a "mockumentary" format, describing a few days in the life of the Beatles. Tickets are $5 at the door. For the $25 dinner and a movie package, call The American Hotel at 631-725-3535.

More classic rock is planned for Saturday, October 8 at 8 pm with THE LEGENDS SERIES returning with an ALL NEW version entitled LEGENDS OF ROCK VOLUME 3. See amazing clips of THE BEATLES, ROLLING STONES, BOB DYLAN, JIMI HENDRIX, THE WHO, THE DEAD, JANIS JOPLIN and many more! THE LEGENDS SERIES, compiled and hosted by filmmaker JOE LAURO, brings to the big screen amazing performance video clips culled from one of the world's largest archives of music on film, the Historic Films Archive. Historic Films is dedicated to the re-discovery and preservation of all forms of American entertainment as it exists on film and video tape. Cost is $15 per person at the door or at the Box Office at 631-725-9500 Wed.-Sat. 11 am-5 pm.

On Sunday, October 9 at 8 pm, The Picture Show presents HELP!, another Beatles favorite and second feature film for the group. The film premiered in 1965 and offers even more hits to sing along with. This comedy adventure tells the story of how the group battles a fictitious cult. For the $25 dinner and a movie package, call The American Hotel at 631-725-3535.

Both Picture Show films are free if you have purchased the new BayPass. How does it work? Just call the Box Office and order your BayPass today. For $20 per month per person, you can see any Mainstage Production, Literature Live production, Workshop and Picture Show as many times as you want. The $20 is automatically charged to your credit card each month. After 3 months of payments the benefits begin. Special events such as The Legend Series are not part of the BayPass benefits.
