Bay Street Theater to Present 50th Anniversary Tribute Concert for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce A 50th Anniversary of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Album Tribute Concerts, a concert on Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4 at 8 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 the day of the event and available online at www.baystreet.org or by calling the Bay Street Theater Box Office at 631-725-9500, open Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 5 pm.
Come hear the entire album performed LIVE from start to finish by a stellar group of musicians. The group features Joe Lauro and Michael Schiano (HooDoo Loungers, Music Director), Dan Koontz (Mama Lee Rose, Nancy Atlas, HooDoo Loungers), Howard Silverman (NYRMA), Fred Gilde (Mama Lee Rose & Friends), Jeff Levitt (White Collar Crime), Mick Hargreaves (Joe Delia & The Thieves), and a variety of horn and string players. As the original album only ran 40 minutes, the show will begin with the band performing a retrospective of tunes from The Beatles from 1963-66.
It has been said that The Beatles 1967 SGT PEPPER'S album single handedly changed the course of rock music. By early 1967, weary of touring, the band, with producer George Martin, began to fully explore more complex and experimental musical creations. The resulting album, SGT. PEPPER'S, became their psychedelic, orchestral masterpiece and one of the best-selling albums of all time.
Like what you hear on Friday, come hear the same show on Saturday!
