Bare Bones Theater Co. presents The Sisters Rosensweig, a comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein.

The Sisters Rosensweig follows the relationship of three Jewish American sisters. Sara Goode, an ex-pat living in London, is about to celebrate her fifty-fourth birthday. Coming to join her in celebration are her sisters Gorgeous Teitelbaum, a talk-show personality about to make the jump to cable TV, and Pfeni Rosensweig, a world traveler, with her companion Geoffrey. Sara, who is not entirely happy about her birthday, is even less thrilled when furrier Mervyn Kant, a friend of Geoffrey's, arrives and instantly becomes smitten with her. The play unfolds on the eve of the fall of the Soviet Union and, against that backdrop, manages to be lively, joyously funny and extremely touching as the sisters reconnect and make discoveries about their relationships and themselves. The Sisters Rosensweig won the 1993 Outer Critics Circle award for Best Broadway Play. Playwright Wendy Wasserstein received the Tony Award for Best Play and Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1989 for her play The Heidi Chronicles.

The cast features Steve Ayle, Ralph Carideo, Len DeLorenzo, Mike Koullias, Jacqueline Misholy, Christine Nelson, Shannon Raffaniello, and Susan Stein. Director is Lynn Antunovich, Associate Director is Eric Clavell, and Producer is Scott McIntyre.

The Sisters Rosensweig runs ten-performances over three weekends, from August 11 - August 28, at the Bare Bones Theater, 57 Main St., Northport. Tickets are $25, $20 matinees, at www.barebonestheater.com or 800-838- 3006. Information only: info@barebonestheater.com or 631-834-4374.
