TheatreSquared will stage the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist, 4,000 Miles tonight, September 26 through October 13, 2013 in downtown Fayetteville. This new script from New York-based playwright Amy Herzog will be directed at TheatreSquared by Shana Gold, who most recently directed the world premiere of Food and Fadwa at New York Theatre Workshop.4,000 Miles, the Obie Award winner for Best New American Play in 2012, finds humor and warmth in the story of college dropout Leo, who has bicycled from California to New York and landed on the doorstop of his 91-year-old grandmother, Vera. Tickets range from $22-$36 and are on sale now at the Walton Arts Center Box Office, by phone at (479) 443-5600 or online at theatre2.org.

"4,000 Miles was justly one of the most critically acclaimed productions of the past New York season, winning accolades and awards across the board," said TheatreSquared Artistic Director Robert Ford. "In the vein of past audience favorites like Stephen Karam's Sons of the Prophet, 4,000 Miles is at once humorous and touching, intimate and expansive. We're thrilled to bring this remarkable new comic drama to the stage at Northwest Arkansas's own professional theatre."

In 4,000 Miles, after a disastrous coast-to-coast bike ride, Leo arrives unannounced at his grandmother Vera's Greenwich Village apartment. Over a month's time, these unlikely roommates find each other at turns infuriating and bewildering, but ultimately discover unexpected kinship in this humorous and critically acclaimed portrayal of two outsiders finding their way in today's world.

The cast for 4,000 Miles includes Susan Greenhill as Vera, Michael Holding as Leo, Shannon Leigh Webber as Bec, and Missy Maramara as Amanda. The production team includes director Shana Gold, stage manager Joseph Fletcher, Scenic Designer Shawn Irish, lighting designer Michael J. Riha, costume designer Ruby Kemph, properties designer Genevieve Headrick, assistant stage managerEmily Bohannan, and technical director Josh Tillotson.
