Red Curtain Theatre to Present MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET THE MUSICAL

Filled with humor, spectacle, and crown pleasing musical numbers, Red Curtain Theatre presents Miracle on 34th Street the Musical December 8-10 and 15-17, 2017, at Staples Auditorium on the Hendrix College campus. This joyous, heartwarming musical is pure family entertainment.

Based on the movie of the same name, Miracle on 34th Street features a book and score by Meredith Willson (The Music Man, The Unskinkable Molly Brown). Single mother, Doris Walker, doesn't want her six-year Susan's head filled with romantic notions, such as Prince Charming and Santa Claus. Their neighbor, Fred Gaily, takes Susan to see Santa Claus at Macy's in an effort to win her over and woo her mother at the same time. When it turns out that Macy's Santa may, in fact, be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical of hearts.

This beloved holiday classic highlights many local actors from central Arkansas, ranging in age from 8 to 70+ years old. Miracle on 34th Street is directed by Gerry Bruno with music direction by Kent Britton and choreography by Olivia Stephens. Bruno says, "This show is magic. From the story to the cast to the crew - it's pure magic! I love it!"
