UK Band James Performs at Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip, 4/15

Indie alternative pop-rock band, James, comes to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday, April 15^th, with special guest Elizaveta.

James will be playing in the upcoming, sold out Coachella music festival. This year’s Coachella will be held for an unprecedented two weekends, April 13-15 and April 20-22.

Hailing from Manchester, UK this septet "has seen many incarnations since their humble beginnings in the early 80’s.  The band got their first break opening up a couple shows for New Order.  Shortly after, they recorded “James Ii” which led to a short tour with Morrissey, all within the first 5 years of being a band.  In ‘86 the band signed with their first major label in an effort to gain recognition and support.  Dissatisfied by their label, the band drops them and decides to start their own label and do it all on their own and 1989 becomes the birth of The Magnificent 7.

"As this band continued to grow the 90’s saw them touring relentlessly all through Europe and in ‘94 breaking through onto US charts with the single “Laid.” A series of critically acclaimed arena shows supporting Duran Duran sees the band spending most of the year in the US.  Growing quickly in popularity the band completed three tours and achieved late night TV status making their rounds on Leno, Letterman and Conan. After a performance that year at Woodstock the band takes a break and works on solo projects. 

"In’ 97 they return with the release of the single “She’s A Star” which launches them back into the limelight and they join the Lollapalooza tour alongside bands such as Korn and Tool.  The next year they release a “Best Of” album which becomes their first triple platinum album.   Relentlessly writing and touring in’ 02, James, decides to part ways and start their own families and live in the real world for a change.

"2007 marks The Improbable Return of The Magnificent 7 and they begin writing, recording and touring festivals all over Europe.  The festival has been one of the most sought after music festivals in recent years, and has featured such elite performers as Kanye West, Mumford & Sons, deadmau5 and more. With this festival comes a straight shot to the top of the music game."
