Tim Allen to Perform for First Time at The Mirage 8/13

By:

Actor and comedian Tim Allen will take the stage at the Terry Fator Theatre at The Mirage for the first time Friday, Aug. 13 at 10 p.m. Allen, best known for playing Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor on the hit TV show "Home Improvement," will perform his hilarious stand-up routine for one night only.
Tickets are priced at $99, $79 and $59, plus tax and service fees, and are now on sale. To charge by phone call (800) 627-6667 or (702) 791-7111. Tickets also are available for purchase online at www.mirage.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

Allen performed his first stand-up routine in 1979 at a Comedy Club in Michigan on a dare from a friend. He continued to flex his comedy muscles doing stand-up at night while appearing in commercials during the day. After performing routine at nightclubs around the country, Allen set out to make his mark in Los Angeles.

In 1991, he was cast on the hit TV show "Home Improvement" as Tim Taylor, the well-meaning, but mishap-prone family man and host of a home-repair show called Tool Time. As the befuddled husband and father, Allen Won numerous awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series and eight consecutive People's Choice Awards for Favorite Male Television Performer until the popular sitcom came to an end in 1999.

In the mid-‘90s, Allen entered the film industry and starred in the top-grossing Disney movie "The Santa Clause." He reprised his role as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus in two sequels and later starred in several other box-office hits including "Galaxy Quest," "Jungle to Jungle" and "Wild Hogs." Allen also showed his acting range by lending his voice talents to the deluded space ranger Buzz Lightyear in Disney/Pixar's highly successful computer animated "Toy Story" franchise.

In between his acting roles and stand-up comedy gigs, Allen found time to pen his first book, Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man, which topped the New York Times' Bestseller List and propelled him into an unprecedented ‘trifecta' - he had a No. 1-rated television show, the No. 1 box office smash-hit movie and the No. 1 best-selling book, all in the same week. He followed that up with a second bestseller, I'm Not Really Here.
