Spiegelworld's EMPIRE to Hold Benefit Dress Rehearsal, 5/13

In the midst of Absinthe at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Spiegelworld is currently preparing for the East Coast return to New York with its all new show, entitled Empire.

A special dress rehearsal of Empire will be held in Las Vegas on May 13, 2012 at the Absinthe Spiegelworld tent at Caesars Palace, before the all-new production heads to The Big Apple for its world premiere. All proceeds will be donated to Keep Memory Alive (www.keepmemoryalive.com), which raises awareness and funds in support of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s work towards enhanced treatments and research of neurocognitive disorders. Reinventing the traditions of circus, cabaret, variety and burlesque for the 21st century audience, Spiegelworld will bring its all new show, entitled Empire, which will pitch its tent in the heart of Times Square at 265 West 45th Street. Preview performances will begin on May 22, 2012, with an official opening night set for May 31, 2012.

Spiegelworld came to life in New York City in the summer of 2006. At its core is a unique venue; a heritage 440-seat Belgian spiegeltent. Popular across Europe during the early 20th century, the luxurious traveling spiegeltents were used as dance halls and music/cabaret venues, featuring intimate in-the-round seating, ornate wooden panelling, mirrors, stained-glass windows, and velvet-upholstered seating booths.

Spiegelworld also features a carnival-style bar facility and a speakeasy VIP lounge. Since 2006, Spiegelworld has presented an annual summer season in New York City on Pier 17, South Street Seaport. Spiegelworld has produced a range of acclaimed shows within the spiegeltent, including Absinthe, La Vie, Late Night Lounge and Desir. Spiegelworld has also toured to Miami South Beach and Melbourne where they were the feature entertainment of the 2009 Australian Open tennis grand slam.

The performance schedule is as follows: Monday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday – Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
