MGM Grand Invites You To Celebrate Chinese New Year 2010 2/13-16

MGM MIRAGE will celebrate the 2010 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Tiger, with exhilarating lion dance performances, a concert at MGM Grand and authentic cuisine at a variety of resort restaurants. The Tiger, the third animal in the Asian zodiac, is a symbol of competitiveness, natural leadership and self-reliance.

The following schedule outlines each lion dance performance, each held in the resort's main valet and porte cochere:

MGM Grand - Saturday, February 13 at 3 p.m.
The Mirage - Sunday, February 14 at 3 p.m.
Bellagio - Sunday, February 14 at 7 p.m.
Mandalay Bay - Sunday, February 14 at 10 p.m.

Yau Kung Moon Dance Group
Yau Kung Moon will perform traditional Chinese lion dances at MGM Grand, The Mirage, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, and ARIA Resort & Casino. Yau Kung Moon is considered one of the best and most respected martial arts, dragon and lion dance organizations in the world with more than 3,000 members. In the 1960s, Yau Kung Moon was introduced to the United States by Grandmaster Ha Kwok Cheung's disciples, Grandmaster Chan Jun Chuen, Grandmaster Wong Cheung and Grandmaster Wan Tak Kee. They later passed the system onto their disciples, Master Bill Lee, Master Lok SAng Lee, Master Michael Lau and Master David Louie.

Within the lion dancing culture, Yau Kung Moon is considered one of the pioneers of Northern and Southern lion dancing (Nam Si Buk Mo) and has set an exceptionally high standard evidenced by its many routines, competitions and performances. Yau Kung Moon has been recognized internationally for being the first U.S. team to compete in the 1990 Invitational World Lion Dance Festival in Malaysia, as well as finishing as the seven-time undefeated Chinese National Lion Dance Champions.

Sam Hui Performs at MGM Grand
Sam Hui is a Cantopop musical legend throughout his native Hong Kong. The popular writer, producer and crooner returns to Las Vegas for another sensational, heart-warming concert to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. Hui will electrify the crowd with his popular hits including "Tian Cai Yu Bai Chi" and "Ban Jin Ba Liang." Hui will perform Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. In celebration of the Year of the Tiger, select MGM MIRAGE properties will feature specialty menus and authentic cuisine from the Far East.

MGM Grand - Pearl, whose hours will vary from Thursday, Feb. 11 - Sunday, Feb. 21, will offer a traditional Chinese menu in addition to Dim Sum during lunch hours. Lunch will be served only Friday, Feb. 12 - Wednesday, Feb. 17. Grand Wok, whose hours also will vary, will feature a special menu with a variety of select delicacies from Tuesday, Feb. 9 - Sunday, Feb. 21. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens ushers in the Year of the Tiger with a spectacular, unique display filled with hidden meaning through March 6. This year's design is guided by the ancient practice of Feng Shui - the art of using surroundings to attract harmony, balance and positive life energy. The teachings of Feng Shui are used to position the flow of water into Bellagio's Conservatory, ensuring positive energy.

The dramatic centerpiece of this exhibit is a majestic tiger whose "fur" coat is comprised of dried botanicals. The tiger stands among a garden of Taihu rocks, chosen because they are believed to encourage circulation of ch'i, or natural energy, and overlooks a tranquil pond of Koi, a symbol of abundance and fortune. Found amidst gold leafed I-Ching coins, a traditional Chinese money symbol stands an 18-foot-tall Chinese God of Prosperity. Widely recognized as the strongest symbol of good fortune and great luck in the New Year, the God of Prosperity is flanked by two Ming Dynasty-styled dings, ancestral vessels that protect against bad fortunes. Nearby, a trio of charming, six-foot tall giant pandas made of more than 9,000 living plants frolic in a lush garden filled with towering bamboo.

Visitors to the Conservatory, also will find a zigzag bridge leading to a beautiful, wing-tipped Ming Dynasty-styled gazebo painted a deep red lacquer with shimmering gold trim and green-tiled roofs, oversized brilliant-red, silk Chinese lanterns and a majestic mountain serving as a dramatic backdrop to this spectacular exhibit.

Chinese Historical Photo Exhibition
MGM MIRAGE International and Crystals at CityCenter, in conjunction with The Chinese
Peoples' Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, will host "Looking Back after 30
Years," a spectacular 30-year retrospective of the China-United States diplomatic relations.

The exhibit, on display through Monday, Feb. 22, has earned worldwide popularity over the
course of the last year following its tour throughout major cities including Macau, Beijing,
Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York, Washington, DC and Los Angeles, among others.

It is designed chronologically in a four-part, 80-panel display which spans the second and third
levels of Crystals' retail and entertainment district. Admission is complimentary and the exhibit
will be open daily from 10 a.m. - midnight.
