Las Vegas Soul Festival Brings NEXT, Lenny Williams and More to Orleans Arena, 4/28

Featuring a superstar lineup of R&B, funk and soul artists, the Las Vegas Soul Festival is coming to the Orleans Arena April 28 at 7 p.m. 
 
The event will include performances by Jagged Edge, NEXT, Lenny Williams, Bar-Kays, Phil Perry Dazz Band, Zapp and Con Funk Shun.
 
Grammy®-nominated band Jagged Edge released their first hit “Let’s Get Married” in 2000 and followed-up the success with “Where the Party At” in 2001.
 
Popular during the late ‘90s, R&B group NEXT is best known for their hit singles “Too Close” and “Wifey.”
 
Lenny Williams was the lead vocalist for the group “Tower of Power” in the ‘70s prior to embarking on a solo career with such hits as “Choosing You” and “’Cause I Love You.”
 
The Bar-Kays began as a studio session group before releasing their hit “Soul Finger” in 1967. The band has since released more than 20 singles. 
 
Singer, songwriter and musician Phil Perry is a former member of the soul group The Montclairs. His solo hits include “Love Don’t Love Nobody” and “One Heart, One Love.”
 
The Dazz Band is a popular ‘80s funk band, popular for the hit single “Let It Whip.” The single also earned a Grammy® award for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.” 
 
Zapp is best known for late ‘70s and early ‘80s hits “More Bounce to the Ounce,” “Dance Floor,” and “Computer Love.”
 
Con Funk Shun scored a string of top 10 hits with “Ffun,” “Shake and Dance with Me,” “Chase Me,” “Got to Be Enough” and “Too Tight.”
 
The Las Vegas Soul Festival will also honor several prominent Las Vegas Valley residents who make a difference in the community, including Las Vegas Councilman Ricki Barlow, basketball legend Gary Payton and Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly.
 
Proceeds from the event benefit the Lazarex Cancer Foundation, powered by CAA Intl.
