UMKC Theatre to Present 'DESIRE', Based on Stories by Tennessee Williams

UMKC Theatre continues its 2016-2017 season with Desire: An Evening of Plays Based on Six Stories by Tennessee Williams. Directed by Darren Sextro, Desire will preview Nov. 25 - Nov. 29, open Nov. 30 and run through Dec.10 at Studio 116, James C. Olson Performing Arts Center, on the UMKC campus.

Directed by Jeff Church, The Coterie's critically-acclaimed production features Rudolph and the entire holly jolly cast of iconic characters, including Sam the Snowman, Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, and the Abominable Snow Monster, helping Santa save Christmas this holiday season, November 8 - December 31, 2016.

Voting has opened for the 2016 BroadwayWorld Kansas City Regional Awards, honoring productions which opened between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors. Voting will run through December 31. Winners will be announced in early January!

Now at Musical Theater Heritage, a show that grabs its audience by the throat and holds on viscerally through the final fade to black. The era is the early 1930s. The city is Berlin Germany. The setting is the grungy and erotic Kit Kat Club. The liberal Weimar Republic turns inward on itself and cedes control to some of the darkest forces in recorded history. This is a suburb production of John Kander and Fred Ebb's 1966 classic masterpiece 'Cabaret.'
