The Unicorn, as usual, offers an alternative to the traditional holiday entertainment this season. THE SALVATION OF IGGY SCROOGE, under the direction of Missy Koonce, will truly be a wild and wacky live event. A cross between the Dickens classic and a rollicking trip down pop culture memory lane, this is a phantasmagorical evening of irreverent Christmas cheer. Iggy is a burned out rock superstar who snarls through Christmas Eve until a top of the charts group of ghosts shows up: rock legends Bob Marley, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley come to set his warped values straight.

Matthew Rapport plays our rocker, Iggy Scrooge, alongside Ron MeGee (as Elvis), Dean Vivian (as Cratchit), Matt Weiss (as Young Scrooge), Matthew McAndrews (as Buddy Holly), Rufus Burns (as Bob Marley), with Erin McGrane, Britney McLeod, Greg Brostrom and Kelly Gibson rounding out the cast as hosts of other hilarious and familiar "Dickens-esque" characters. This show is co-produced with UMKC Theatre.

THE SALVATION OF IGGY SCROOGE previews November 30, December 1 and 2, and runs December 3 - 24, 2011. Performances Tuesday through Thursday are at 7:30 pm, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. Stay with us December 6, 11 and 13 for a talk back with the director and actors immediately following the performance.

Join us on for a special X-Mas Eve event before our December 24th performance. At 7pm that night enjoy appetizers, a cash bar and entertainment from "We Three Elvises", watch THE SALVATION OF IGGY SCROOGE at 8pm and stay after for a champagne toast with the cast. Tickets for this special X-Mas Eve Event are $55. Unicorn Subscribers can upgrade their current tickets for just $20. Student, Senior and UNDER 35 discounts also apply this night.

To purchase tickets, call Unicorn Theatre at 816-531-PLAY (7529) EXT. 10, online at www.UnicornTheatre.org or in person at the box office located at 3828 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.
