Kansas City Actors Theatre Continues Season 11 with A NUMBER Tonight

Kansas City Actors Theatre kicks off the last half of Season 11 with Caryl Churchill's drama, A NUMBER, directed by Mark Robbins.

In this stark and startling drama, a son confronts his emotionally distant father, learning a horrifying truth about his past. As anger and abandonment issues emerge, a mystery is exposed, revealing a disturbing incident involving a number of "others." A NUMBER is an illuminating and provocative work by internationally acclaimed playwright Caryl Churchill in which she examines individuality and the theory of nature versus nurture.

The cast features local Kansas City artists, Gary Neal Johnson as Salter and Mathew Schmidli as Bernard 1, Bernard 2 and Michael Black.

Susan Proctor stage manages the production. The design team includes Tim Rothwell/Set Designer, Shane Rowse/Lighting Designer, Addison Kobie/Sound Designer, Shannon Smith-Regnier/Costume Designer and Paula Pearson/Properties Designer.

A NUMBER previews this weekend, January 20-22 at Mabee Theater on the Rockhurst University campus. Opening night is January 23rd and performances will conclude on February 7th. Audience talk-backs will follow performances on January 24th and 29th and February 3rd.
