Kansas City Actors Theatre ends its exciting 10th Year with Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize winning play, Crimes of the Heart. The company's plays this season all centered around the theme "The Art of the Family"...perhaps be_er known as "The Art of the Dysfunc8onal Family."

Actors Theatre will be performing, for the first 8me, at Polsky Theatre, Carlsen Center on the Johnson County Community College Campus at 12345 College Blvd in Overland Park, KS. The play will be directed by Darren Sextro.

A comedy about three Southern sisters loving, feuding and fussing through a very bad day. Babe has just shot her husband, Meg is fresh from the loony bin, and poor Lenny celebrates her 50th birthday alone in the kitchen by s8cking a candle in a cookie. With warm-hearted laughs, the sisters learn to forgive the past, face the present and embrace the future in this comedy.

The cast features Actors Theatre core members, Melinda McCrary as Lenny and Cinnamon Schultz as Babe and rounding out the three sisters is Manon Halliburton as Meg. Actors Theatre has gathered an experienced director in Darren Sextro who is direc8ng the play for the second 8me and collabora8ng with a crea8ve team of designers and stage managers.

The cast also includes Jan Rogge as Chick, David Fris as Doc and Coleman Crenshaw as Barnee.

Carol Jo Bradley will stage manage the produc8on; other produc8on and design team includes newcomer Edward Ma_hew Walter - Set Design, Shane Rowse - Ligh8ng Design, Georgianna Londre - Costume Design, Regina Weller - Scenic Painter, Sound Design - Sean Leis8co, April Brewer - Assistant Stage Manager and Marc Manley as Props Designer and Wardrobe Manager.

Crimes of the Heart opens with Previews February 25 - 28. Opening night is February 28 and performances will conclude on March 8. Audience talk-backs will follow performances on March 1, March 4 (evening performance), and March 6.
