Wardrobe Attendant

Position Summary

TOUR: October 29, 2026- January 1, 2027

Talmi Entertainment seeks a skilled Wardrobe Attendant to join a three-person touring wardrobe team. The Attendant supports both the professional company and youth-cast wardrobe operations, with primary responsibility for assisting youth fittings before the performance and supporting the professional cast from Stage Right during the show. This is a hands-on touring position requiring strong sewing skills, speed, flexibility, and sound judgment in a demanding one-city-per-day schedule.

Core Responsibilities

Assist with youth-cast fittings and independently fit assigned roles so multiple roles can be fitted at the same time.

Help load in and organize the youth-cast dressing room, creating an orderly and positive experience for school directors, children, and families.

Transition back to the professional-cast wardrobe operation as youth fittings conclude and complete assignments from the Adult Wardrobe Lead.

Assist with repairs and alterations for both professional and youth-cast costumes, prioritizing urgent show needs.

Assist with laundry, hand washing, spot cleaning, costume distribution, collection, and reset.

Run the assigned Stage Right show track, including presetting costumes, assisting professional-cast quick changes, and responding to costume issues during the performance.

Support youth-cast quick changes when required, while maintaining the professional cast as the primary performance responsibility.

Proactively assist Wardrobe team members across Stage Left and Stage Right and communicate clearly about incomplete work, repairs, and show-critical needs.

Touring Wardrobe Team Duties

Load in and load out approximately 200 costumes and associated wardrobe equipment transported in approximately 11 gondolas; typical calls are approximately four to five hours for load-in and two hours for load-out.

Maintain, repair, alter, issue, collect, clean, and properly store costumes throughout the tour.

Participate in pre-tour and on-tour fittings, alterations, repairs, and department preparation as assigned.

Run performances in a wide range of performing arts centers and adapt to changing backstage layouts, local crews, schedules, and dressing-room conditions.

Contribute to a collaborative, respectful department and perform additional wardrobe duties assigned by the Adult Wardrobe Lead.

Qualifications

Professional experience in fittings, alterations, hand sewing, machine sewing, repairs, and costume maintenance.

Ability to work confidently with men’s and women’s costumes ranging from simple garments to delicate, multi-piece costumes.

Knowledge of classical and romantic tutus strongly preferred.

Experience with quick changes and live-performance wardrobe operations; touring ballet or comparable production experience preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure, accept direction, shift priorities, and maintain a positive manner with professional artists, youth performers, and school personnel.

Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive or comparable cloud-based tools.

Physical ability to handle costumes and wardrobe equipment and sustain long production days involving standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive handwork.

Tour Conditions & Compensation

The tour generally loads in, performs, loads out, and travels to a new city each day.

Overnight travel is primarily aboard an industry-standard 12-bunk sleeper coach; the production also travels with a semi-truck and a seated coach for the cast.
