Turcaret by Alain-Rene Lesage

Ivy Lane Players are holding evening auditions for Turcaret by Alain-Rene Lesage: a ferocious comedy about greed at the Levittown Public Library, 1 Bluegrass Lane, Levittown in Rooms A and B on the ground floor on the following dates:

Tuesday, June 16th

Thursday, June 18th,

Thursday, June 25th and

Tuesday, June 30th.

All of the start times are 7 p.m. Auditions will continue until 10 p.m. but the library will close and the doors will be locked by maintenance as of 9 p.m., so you cannot arrive after 9 at night. Please be advised that, due to security issues, if you leave the building after 9 p.m., you will not be re-admitted that night.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. As the age ranges are somewhat flexible, please be prepared to read several different roles.

Four performances will be the first two weekends in November, weekend of November 7th and 14th.

NO PAY. Everyone involved is a volunteer.

Martine, maid to the Baroness

The Baroness, a widow and coquette

Frontin, wily valet to the Knight

Flamand, valet to Turcaret

Turcaret, a financier, in love with the Baroness

The Knight, a dandy, who takes financial advantage of the Baroness

Lisette, maid to the Baroness

The Marquis, a dandy who is a friend of the Knight

Rafle, a loan shark

Furet, a confidence man

Jasmin, servant to the Baroness

Madame Jacob, Turcaret’s sister, a dealer in second-hand goods

"The Countess" / Madame Turcaret, estranged wife of Turcaret, pretending to be an aristocrat while looking for her support arrears.
