Summer Theatre Academy Director/Choreographers & Music Directors

The White Plains Performing Arts Center a non profit regional theatre is looking for energetic, passionate individuals to work with our Summer Theatre Academy students in our summer camp. 

We are looking to hire Director/Choreographers & Music Directors  for our summer youth shows. Please state when applying which show(s) you are interested in. We strive to have a different creative team for each show. 

The Director/Choreographer positions are ONE position and responsible for the typical direction and choreography needs of a show. 

The MD roles are responsible for teaching the music in the show and then running tracks for the performances. MD’s need to be proficient on the piano and have experience working with the age group listed in each session. 

DATES:

• Anastasia Youth Edition (3-week camp): (Grades 6-12)

June 29-July 18  Performances Fri. July 17th & Sat. July 18th

• School of Rock Youth Edition. (3-week camp):  (Grades 4-10)

July 20 - August 8th Performances Fri. August 7th & Sat. August 8th

The Following Shows only are accepting Music Director Submissions

• TBA  (2-week camp): (Grades 2-10)

August 10th -22rd Performances Fri. Aug. 21 and  Saturday Aug 22 

• Shrek Kids (1-week camp): (Grades 2-8)

August 24th-28th Performances Fri. Aug. 28th 

HOURS:

• 10:00am - 4:00pm daily, Monday-Friday
   

REQUIREMENTS: 

• College Grad or equal professional experience in the arts in the position you are applying for

• Previous experience working with school aged students is a must and those with educational theatre training and degrees are preferred for the Director position 

• Applicants must have access to local housing - no housing or travel provided. 

• You can apply for any number of  sessions but you must be available for the entire session you are applying for. 

PAY: $800/week
