Ginger, Santa’s most confident elf, is hoping to get a Toy Tester who’s just as bold and eager as she is but instead, gets paired with a very quiet young girl named Lily.
But someone else has been eagerly awaiting the Toy Testers as well. An imp named Mortimer who wants to use the power of their belief to replace Santa as the face of Christmas.
As Mortimer’s influence grows, Ginger and Lily must learn from each other and work together to stop him from taking over Christmas! NOTE:
The Encore Theatrical Arts Project (ETAP) company is composed of talented and focused young performers from the NOVA area. SEEKING: The Narrator/Santa (one actor plays both parts)
He/Him/His, 30s-40s
The Narrator is a gentle, excitable person responsible for guiding the audience through our story. An enthusiastic storyteller who is warm and supportive, he’s a soft place for our characters (or audience) to land when things get tough. Santa is the embodiment of Christmas - joy, heart, and the knowledge that everything will work out in the end, with a little bit of magic. Comfort with singing and movement/dance is a plus. Mortimer
He/Him/His, 30s-40s
A villain whose selfishness and megalomania turned him from a Christmas elf to a cunning imp, focused on fame and recognition. He is calculating and smooth, sly yet charming. Mortimer believes he’s the smartest person in any room and uses his skills to get what he wants - to replace Santa as the face of Christmas. Vocal range tenor/baritone, A2-G4. Comfort with movement/dance is a plus. Please submit headshots, resumes, and reels to encoretheatricals@gmail.com. Again, all actors must have local, DMV-area housing and transportation.
