Stage Management Intern, Performing Arts

The Stamford JCC Performing Arts Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the production team of our spring production, Singin’ in the Rain JR., as a Stage Management Intern. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience supporting the stage management and production process for a musical theatre performance. The intern will work closely with the production team during rehearsals, technical preparation, and performance. Opportunity to stay on through early June for a multi-production Stage and Production Management experience, working closely with our Production Associate. 

This opportunity is ideal for students or early-career artists seeking practical experience in stage management within a youth-focused performing arts environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist the Stage Manager and production team during rehearsals and performances 
• Help maintain rehearsal notes, schedules, and backstage organization 
• Attend and support weekly rehearsals on Sundays from 12:30–3:00 PM 
• Assist with technical and dress rehearsal on April 18 
• Support the performance on April 19 
• Assist with cue tracking, backstage communication, and performer transitions 
• Participate in one preliminary production meeting 

• Work efficiently and positively with children and teaching artists 

  Minimum Qualifications: 

• Interest in stage management, theatre production, or arts administration 
• Experience working with school-aged students preferred 
• Coursework or prior experience in theatre, musical theatre, or stage management a plus 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate as part of a team 
• Professional and calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment 

• Be available all-day April 18 & April 19 

  Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit may be available if required by the intern’s educational institution (documentation to be provided by the intern)
