Lighting Designer & Board Operator - Stamford JCC

The Stamford JCC Performing Arts Department is seeking a passionate and talented individual to join the production team of our winter show as Lighting Designer & Board Op. The Lighting Designer & Board Op will design the lighting of our winter theatre & dance production, The Land of Sweets, and operate the board during the performance. Ideal candidates have experience designing lights for theatrical or dance productions and board operating during tech and the performance. Responsibilities: • Design the lighting plot for our winter production and operate the lighting board during tech and the performance • Be available for all of tech (12/13/25) and the performance (12/14/25) in Stamford, CT • Tech our show (run time: approx. 50 minutes) in 8 hours. • Have patience and a good attitude (working with children!) • Have one preliminary meeting with the production team Qualifications: • Experience working with school-aged students preferred • 3 years of professional experience or proficient undergraduate experience • Proficiency in multiple lighting control systems • Must have experience with theatrical lighting • Must be a team player: someone who communicates openly and can collaborate well • Ability to liaise in a professional manner with performers and crew • Available all day December 13-14, 2025 Salary: Salary begins at $500; additional compensation commensurate with experience.
