Resident Pianist / Arranger / Cabaret Developer

Florida Studio Theatre is seeking a talented and versatile Resident Pianist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and theatre, with the ability to perform a variety of roles within our organization. This position requires a skilled musician who can perform various skills related to FST’s New Works program with an emphasis on Cabaret Development. This will include the ability to create arrangements, read and create vocal and accompaniment charts, can improvise, collaborate with the cabaret developers, and accompany sing throughs, rehearsals, and performances for a variety of Florida Studio Theatre’s programming. Key Responsibilities:

• Musical Director for Winter Mainstage, Winter Cabarets, Children’s Theatre: Lead and direct the musical aspects of our Winter programming performances, ensuring high-quality musical presentations as assigned. Create musical backing tracks for the cabaret production.

• Cabaret Development: Collaborate with the creative team to develop and enhance cabaret performances as assigned.

• Arrangement Creation: Create musical arrangements for various genres, including Pop, R&B, Country, Folk, and Rock Music, to suit the needs of different productions.

• Chart Reading and Creation: Read and create musical charts (vocal and underscoring arrangements) to facilitate rehearsals and performances. Familiarity with music arranger Software: Finale, MuseScore, etc.

• Accompaniment: Accompany local auditions, rehearsals, and performances, providing musical support to actors and singers when assigned.

• Improvisation: Improvise from arrangers' charts to add creative flair to performances.

• Children's Education and Performance Recital Programs: Accompany educational programs for children, including performance recitals, to foster their musical growth and theatre appreciation. Contract Details:

• Full-year residency with a leading LORT-D Regional Theatre.

• Salary commensurate with experience. Salary:
