Props Department Run Crew - The Public Theater

Prop Department Run Crew

The Public theater Props Department seeks motivated and organized individuals to expand our freelancer list for run crew positions. As a member of the Run Crew, you will participate in scene changes, prop handoffs, and onstage presentation for each production. You will work closely with other members of the Props and Stage Management teams.



Responsibilities

o Oversee placement of props on stage during technical rehearsals and performances

o General maintenance and repair on show props

o Shopping weekly for any consumables that may be in the show

o Conduct the operation of movement for scenic elements for the production

Qualifications

o Previous theater experience is preferred but not required

o Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving scenic materials and furniture and spending long periods standing up

o Flexible in your approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances

o Thrives in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment

o Flexible schedule- schedule varies week to week, and there will be some 10+ hour days



Run Crew typically works nights and weekends. Starting hourly rate is $25.00

o As a condition of employment, The Public will require all who report to work on site (either at The Public Theater or any other workspace or performing location) to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

o The Public Theater Production Department is currently engaged in a combination of remote and in-person work. This position will begin work remotely but is expected to begin working in person during the 2021-2022 season.
