OVERVIEW:



The producers of IS THIS A ROOM and DANA H are looking to add a Production Fellow to their team. This fellow will ideally be an individual who identifies as part of an under-represented group in commercial theatre. The Production Fellow of IS THIS A ROOM and DANA H will spend their 6-month long, multifaceted fellowship where they will focus in the areas of General Management, Producing, and Press/PR.



Program dates: On or about Wednesday, September 29, 2021 – Friday, March 25, 2022



No prior commercial theatre experience needed to apply.



POSITION DETAILS:



The six month full-time paid fellowship is open to those early in their careers, especially to those looking to initiate a career in the commercial theatre industry. This paid opportunity will allow the fellow to observe and contribute to the mounting and closing of a broadway show. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in multitudes of events with theater professionals from a variety of disciplines, so that they may learn more about other areas of focus and create networking opportunities in commercial theater across many different career paths on Broadway.



Responsibilities will be varied based on the needs of each office and the interests of the fellow. Touchstones such as seminars, check-ins for mutual feedback, and review of established and future goals will be provided throughout the fellowship.



The initial weeks of the fellowship will largely be spent in The Lyceum theatre and working at the production’s General Management offices. The show’s preview process will be the time during which the fellow will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the mounting of the show itself. Throughout those weeks, the fellow will work closely through daily communication with the associate producer for the productions, and be provided with additional responsibilities and guidance.



The producing side of this role will include the opportunity to support, observe, and interact with many members of the wider Is This A Room team in their work. The fellow will help facilitate and participate in recurring meetings with members of these teams, play an active role in special events, and contribute in various other forms of daily operations for these two plays.



The PR elements of this role will entail writing and distributing press releases, monitoring news coverage daily, arranging interview opportunities between clients and media outlets, covering in-person interviews and photo ops, and more.



COVID-19 safety protocols are of the upmost importance; we expect the fellow to be fully vaccinated upon time of employment and closely follow full production COVID protocols.

DATES, COMPENSATION, AND HOW TO APPLY:



APPLICATION DEADLINE: 12pm. Sunday, September 19, 2021.



PROGRAM DATES: On or about Wednesday, September 29, 2021 - Wednesday, March 30, 2022.



COMPENSATION: $815 per week



HOURS: General office hours of M-F 10am-6pm based on a 40-hour work week. Throughout this 6 month commitment (although, especially through early November) additional availability on nights and weekends will be required.
