PAINT YOUR WAGON auditions

The Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre will hold auditions for its fall production, “Paint Your Wagon,” at Pulaski Street School Auditorium, 300 Pulaski Street in Riverhead, on May 23 and 24, from 6:30-9 PM. (enter through front doors)

The role of Ben Rumson has been cast. All other roles are available. The performance dates are November 16-19 at Riverhead High School.

Rusty Kransky will direct, with Dee Martin assisting. George Moravek is the Musical Director with Lucille Naar-Saladino as Choreographer.

Paint Your Wagon tells the story of the 1848 California Gold Rush and the many who headed west hoping to strike it rich. The Lerner and Loewe score features such classic songs as “They Call the Wind Mariah,” “I Talk to the Trees” and "Wand’rin’ Star.” The humorous show has roles for many men of all ages to play gold miners and a chorus of dance hall girls. Three women (a daughter aged 16-25, and two wives, aged 20s-40s) are also featured in the show.

Please bring music for a song from a classic Broadway musical; an accompanist will be provided. All should be prepared to learn a dance combination. There will be readings from the script.

Show dates are November 16-19, 2023.
