Show Description:



The Hip Hop Nutcracker featuring Kurtis Blow is returning to the stage. The Hip Hop Nutcracker is set to Tchaikovsky’s classical score and re-imagines the famous story of “The Nutcracker” through the language of hip hop dance.







Role:



Onstage Violinist



No Union Affiliation.



Any Gender identity. Any Age. Any Ethnic appearance.







Role Description:



A musician who is also a character in the show. In search of a violinist with the classical skill to play Tchaikovsky and the improv skills to jam with a DJ over hip hop beats. The violinist must have the stage presence to connect with the dancers on stage and the audience.







Additional Details:



Rate is $1,200/week. Per diem ($50/day once on the road), and housing (single room in 3-star hotels—Hilton Garden, Marriott, etc.) will be provided while on tour. Tour will travel by bus and plane. Catering is provided on performance days at each venue, and the tour travels with a full-time Physical Trainer.
