Seeking Non-Union singers and dancers for the following roles. All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Be a part of this Raw, Rebellious, High Octane, musical for a New Generation. American Idiot is an electrifying rock musical based on Green Day’s iconic 2004 album, telling the story of three friends navigating love, loss, rage, and identity in a fractured, post-9/11 world.

We are stepping out of our black box theatre for this one, and are seeking singers, dancers, and actors with emotional honesty.

Friday, May 8th at 6:30pm

Saturday, May 9th at 5:30pm

Audition Preparation

Vocal Audition: Please prepare a pop/punk/rock-style song in the style of Green Day (but not from American Idiot), limited to 1 minute. Please bring accompaniment tracks, (karaoke versions/instrumental/no vocals tracks only) or your instrument.  A keyboard will also be on site for you to play if you prefer.

Movement/Dance: This is a high-energy, movement-heavy show. Auditioners will be given choreography or physical storytelling to follow. Please wear clothing and footwear that allow for full range of motion.

Age Requirements: 18 and up preferred. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Please note: This production contains mature content and themes.

Character Breakdown

Note: This is a rock ensemble piece with most performers featured throughout. Casting will prioritize vocal range, physical expression, and emotional commitment.

Johnny (Male): The self-proclaimed "Jesus of Suburbia." Disillusioned, poetic, impulsive, and eventually self-destructive. Strong rock tenor with grit and range.

Tunny (Male): Johnny’s friend who joins the military. Emotionally raw and powerful arc. Strong vocals and physicality required.

Will (Male): The friend who stays behind. Laid-back but quietly troubled. Baritone/tenor with grounded energy.

Whatsername (Female): Johnny’s enigmatic love interest. Fierce, independent, and heartbreaking. Strong belt with edge and nuance.

Extraordinary Girl (Female): A dreamlike presence who guides Tunny. Ethereal, sensual, and powerful. Must move well.

Ensemble: Citizens of suburbia, soldiers, rebels, partiers, lovers. Strong rock/pop voices, actors comfortable with stylized movement, and emotionally charged storytelling.

This is more than a musical. It’s a cathartic ride through rage, hope, and awakening. If you’ve got something to say—and the voice to say it—American Idiot is your stage.
