Marketing Specialist

Location: Encompass New Opera Theatre

138 South Oxford Street, 1A Brooklyn, NY 11217 Position: Marketing Specialist (Full-time) About the Company: Encompass New Opera Theatre is dedicated to the creation, development and production of adventurous new music theatre and contemporary opera, as well as revivals of important musical works by American and international composers. In the vanguard of companies devoted to widening the recognition of America's outstanding composers, dramatists, singers and musicians, Encompass has, for more than 40 years, produced over 68 full-scale productions with orchestra and staged readings of over 165 new works from jazz and cabaret to musicals and opera. https://www.encompasstheatre.org/ Responsibilities:

• Prepare marketing and promotional materials including print, online flyers, and e-blasts for all productions and programs

• Create and execute email marketing campaigns to sell tickets

• Put together a monthly e-newsletter

• Lead social media campaigns with written and visual content on a weekly basis with the goal of increasing followers and engagement.

• Perform updates and website maintenance on encompasstheatre.org using the platform Squarespace (Knowledge of HTML & CSS is a plus)

• Conduct marketing research and review analytical data related to various marketing campaigns and ticket sales Requirements:

• College graduate with a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, Marketing, or any related field

• 2-3 years of experience in marketing, social media, theatre production, and/or special events (Internships included)

• Background/knowledge in the arts, opera/musical theater, and marketing industries highly preferred

• Detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Excellent time management, leadership skills

• Receptive to feedback, problem-solving skills  

Skills:

• Proficiency in Graphic Design and/or Marketing

• Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube

• Proficiency with MailChimp or other email marketing platforms

• Knowledge of Squarespace or other website building platforms

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Experience working with non-profit organizations

• Some knowledge of AudienceView or other ticketing platforms is a plus

• Music production experience is a plus

• Video editing and/or video production experience is a plus

• Knowledge of HTML & CSS is a plus *Must be local to NYC/Brooklyn or the New York metropolitan area.
