Dates: March 1, 2023 to April 2, 2023 (inclusive)
Salary: $825/week + Housing & $350 travel stipend
SUMMARY
The Assistant Stage Manager is a contract employee who, under the guidance of the Production Stage Manager & Stage Manager, will assist with the documentation, preparation, and running of all rehearsals and performances for the upcoming Spring 2023 Discoveries production. They will also maintain a working score for assigned production, and other duties related to stage management as assigned.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform those duties that are industry standard for the position
• Run rehearsals if the SM is not in rehearsal
• Create, maintain, and distribute running paperwork, as assigned
• Set up rehearsal rooms
• Assist with the collection, organization, and running of rehearsal props and costume pieces for the rehearsal room
• Assist with the creation of daily rehearsal notes
• Help to maintain order and discipline at all rehearsals and performances
• Create sign-in sheets for cast
• Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Exceptional time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with multiple departments
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate with and effectively organize large groups of people, in both rehearsal and performance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor or Associate degree in Theatre or related field preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in professional live theatrical production
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to communicate using a phone and headset
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
