PRETTY GUARDIAN SAILOR MOON to Open Permanent Theater in Tokyo

The new year-round venue will launch at Shinagawa Prince Hotel in April, expanding the franchise’s long-running stage presence in Japan.

By: Feb. 04, 2026

A new permanent theater dedicated to Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is set to open in Tokyo this spring, continuing the franchise’s expansion into live entertainment more than three decades after its debut. According to Japan Today, the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo- will open in April at Shinagawa Prince Hotel’s Club eX venue.

The new theater follows the earlier Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -Shining Moon Tokyo- theater restaurant, which operated briefly in 2019 in the Azabu-Juban district, a key setting within the series. Nelke Planning Co., which produced the earlier venue and has overseen Sailor Moon stage musicals since 2013, will operate the new theater.

Nelke managing director and producer Michiho Matsumoto said the Shinagawa production will feature a completely original story and expand the onstage presence of the Sailor Guardians. While earlier productions focused on five characters, the new adaptation will include all ten Sailor Guardians.

In addition to performances, the venue will offer cast meet-and-greet opportunities and themed drinks. Ticket sales are expected to begin next month via the official website, with overseas reservations welcomed.

Since its original broadcast in 1992, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon has aired in more than 40 countries.
