It was 1992, the year that saw Undercounter, theater show starring a group of outstanding actors led by Silvio Orlando and directed by Daniele Luchetti. The show quickly became a cult classic, a forerunner of the entire line of school environment including the 1995 film adaptation of the same play that took the title the school. He was one of the rare cases where the film received a theatrical success and not vice versa.
The show was a painting of the Italian school of the time and at the same time an almost prophetic example of the way it was taking the school system.
'I decided to bring back the best show of my career, and it was an extraordinary event, exciting, with a strong grip on the audience' says Silvio Orlando. Twenty years later, it's really interesting to do a budget on the school and see what happened then.
The text is taken from the literary production of Domenico Starnone. We are in a time of ballots in IV D. A group of teachers must decide the future of their students. Occasionally, in this restricted environment, filters the external reality.
A comparison of hopes, ambitions, social and personal conflicts, loves, friendships and generational clashes, hilarious characters come to life, impassive judges and compassionate at the same time. The dialogue brilliant and paradoxical situations make it a show irresistibly comic.
