Written in 1932, "faith, love, Hope" is a grotesque fable from the tragic finale. A young woman, Elisabeth, to survive the crisis and break free from debt, sells his body to science in "bare ownership". Would only have a small amount of money to open a business and survive. Victim of bureaucratic chicanery and absurd misunderstandings, will not kill themselves.
Von Horváth wrote the play in collaboration with a journalist who specializes in judicial Chronicle: yesterday as today, in times of economic crisis, dramatic were the poor people to make the cost of a mad system in which the rich, however, managed to become even richer. A large dose of humor (black), great rhythm, music and a performance of total theater actors to what the same author called "a little dance of death" — the portrait of a mad mechanism, of a sick system that crushes the poor, helpless and desperate systematically killing hope. Why we must never stop indignation.
This show marks the return of Christoph Marthaler to little after the memorable participation in the European Theatre Festival in 1999 with "the specialists" and, in 2006, the extraordinary success of his version of "the ten commandments" by Raffaele Viviani.
