Thomas Stockmann, a young, idealistic doctor, tries to do the right thing and save his town, but is drawn into a confrontation that turns him into “an enemy of the people”, which threatens his career, his relationship with his family and friends, and even his life. The relationship between crony capitalism and the media in the era of public shaming is the principal and amazingly topical theme of Ibsen’s classic play that is now given a modern adaptation.
